Xbox Games Showcase – When to Watch and What to Expect

We don’t have a long list of confirmed games, but we have a good idea of what you can expect

We’ve known for a while now that July would serve as home to the Xbox Games Showcase, and now we have confirmation that it’ll happen on Thursday July 23. We know that we’re see some first-party games for the Xbox Series X, but what exactly will we see?

The rumor mill has been quite busy about this Series X showcase, with the most prominent and practically confirmed (thanks to the official Halo Twitter account) being our first look on next-gen Halo Infinite gameplay. Microsoft has stopped short of revealing what we’ll see, but it did say that you’ll need to tune in at 9am PDT, noon EDT, or 5pm BST.

That said, Xbox has significantly expanded its range of first-party studios in the past few years, and this specific event is going to be their time to shine. Rumors say that we’ll get our first look at the long-awaited Fable 4 – a game supposedly in development by Playground Games, the same company that made the Forza Horizon series. A new title from Double Fine is apparently on the docket, as is the mysterious project from The Initiative. This is, of course, going along with Ninja Theory’s Hellblade 2, and we’re guessing a whole bunch of other surprise games that we know nothing about.

Either way, the event is shaping up to be pretty awesome, let’s just hope it wasn’t as much of a dud as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s “gameplay” debut.
