It’s been two years since Age of Empires 4 was announced, and we’ve heard very little about it since. We did learn in August that we would get our first real look at X019 on November 14th, and it looks like Xbox Games Marketing GM Aaron Greenberg kept his word – confirmation of which comes via a new tweet with a not-so-revealing GIF.

As far as we know, the first gameplay footage will be revealed alongside Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition – a remaster that aims to improve upon, well, just about everything without changing the core fundamentals. On the plus side, there’s a good chance that we’ll finally learn when AOE 4 will actually be released or, at the very least, a generalized window of expectation.
