We were expecting Strife, the final horseman in Darksiders’ apocalyptic mythology to get his own solo adventure game as well, but the new Darksiders Genesis trailer tells us that he’s not riding solo as his brother War will be at his side.
While this might come off as a bummer at first, it’s actually a pretty cool development. Strife isn’t anywhere near as serious as War, and his fighting style is very different as well. Strife is a ranged horseman, so when you’re playing as him, you get to use his magical guns – a huge departure from chopping with War’s sword. In this game, War and Strife have a new power that we’ve yet to see in previous games in which they can turn into massive monsters with cool attacks to take out large groups of enemies.
Even better yet, you’re not forced to play the game in co-op mode. You can choose to play solo and switch between the Strife or War as you see fit. We don’t’ know much else about strife at the moment, but war is a bad ass as you can see in the video below. Darksiders Genesis will hit PC and Google Stadia on December 5th or Xbox, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on February 14, 2020.
