Its true folks, Human Head Studios – maker of games like Prey and Rune 2 – is officially closing its doors. The studio has been around since 1997 and has contributed a lot in the gaming industry, but it was time to look at the bigger picture. This announcement comes just a few days after the release of Rune 2 on Epic Games Store.
“When we realized the company would have to close, we wanted to do whatever we could to keep the team together and keep each member of our talented staff employed”
As the community manager Katherine Stull mentioned in a blog update, the team will remain together, and that is only the end of the company, not the end of the team. And, that’s exactly what’s happening as the team moves to Bethesda and will operate under the name “Roundhouse Studios.”
“That’s when we reached out to Bethesda Softworks to see what might be possible. As a result, we are proud to announce that the development team from Human Head is becoming part of Bethesda as a new studio based in Madison, WI, called Roundhouse Studios. The entire staff has been offered new roles with Bethesda, and it’s exciting to know that our team, which has accomplished so much together, for so long, can continue doing what we love.”
This will assure that the human head team will keep working on new games and keep doing what they love, offering its community wonderful games. With that in mind, hopefully this will help Bethesda put an end to the nightmare that has become Fallout 76 as it might actually have some talent in the company that knows what it’s doing.
