Sony just showed off its new DualSense controller for the PlayStation 5 yesterday, and the first external report on the controller comes from Bethesda’s Pete Hines, the company’s Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications, via Twitter.
“I’ve gotten to try the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on this thing and was very impressed. I think games are gonna do some really cool things with them.”
When asked if it feels different compared to the DualShock 4 PS4 controller, his response was a bit surprising but very telling.
“You sort of immediately forget about a PS4 controller. I went back and forth between them and you immediately just want to use the PS5.”
These comments come after Hines was able to try out both the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers and represents the first sign that Sony’s next-gen controller really will be a big step up compared to the DualShock controller that we’ve all grown accustomed to. Of course, we wouldn’t really expect a partner of Sony to open blast the company’s next controller, but it does seem like, overall, he’s quite excited about it. The Addicted to Play team still feels like it borrows a lot of Xbox controller DNA, but what do you think?
