With One Last Update on the Way Battlefield 5 Nears the End of Its Life

That last update includes a new map, new weapons, and some new tweaks

Battlefield 5 just entered Chapter 6 shortly after the turn of the decade, and while it brought a lot of new content and took us into the jungle, we’re sad to report that it will also be the last chapter of BF5.

In a recent post on the official Battlefield 5 website, Senior Producer, Ryan McArthur confirmed that DICE has absolutely zero plans to create any further seasonal chapters. This chapter’s expansion of battles, combatants, and even Wake Island isn’t the last of the content coming to the game before it’s put into retirement. A new update that’s planned for June promises “new content, weapons, and game tweaks,” among (hopefully) other things.

Along with the official announcement comes an image of a new map that’s codenamed Libya. It hints at a return to North Africa, but that doesn’t mean the final update won’t expand into other regions as well. The next Battlefield will, most likely, be launched for next-gen consoles so there’s a good chance that DICE wants to give us enough to keep us happy until the next game launches – something that’s said to happen until April 2021 and March 2020. For now, there’s little else to say, but as soon as we learn more about the June 2020 update for Battlefield 5, we’ll be sure to get you up to speed.
