World of Warcraft has been around for a long time, and it was a real treat when Blizzard released WoW Classic. It wasn’t until loading up World of Warcraft Classic that I realized how much the game has evolved, and there’s plenty to be said about going back to a vanilla user interface after all these years. And, that’s where Wow Classic addons come into play. In this guide, we’re going to discuss how to install add-ons on PC and Mac and go over the best Classic WoW addons available for you today.
How To Install Wow Classic Addons
Installing Wow Classic Addons on PC
Once you’ve downloaded your chosen addon (it’ll come as a .zip file), navigate to wherever you downloaded it. By default it should be in your Downloads directory unless you chose a different location.Open the .zip file and press the “extract all files”...
Back in April 2020, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands entered the Alpha testing phase and now, four months later, we’ve learned that it will officially launch on October 27, 2020. The news comes courtesy of an official release date trailer and a trailer for the first short of the expansion, Shadowlands Afterlives: Bastion.
The release date trailer that you see above doesn’t give us a whole lot of context, but Blizzard has given us something to work with:
“Upon entering the Shadowlands, Azeroth’s champions will encounter an otherworld in disarray. Virtuous souls are being wrongfully cast into the eternal darkness of the Maw, while the Covenants—powerful factions who hold dominion over the afterlife’s disparate realms—face ruin and strife as the flow of the Shadowlands’ essential anima mysteriously dwindles.”
As you can see, World of Warcraft is about to get a lot bigger.
What is World of Warcraft Shadowlands All...
Uther the Lightbringer, Paladin of the Silver Hand, met an untimely demise ... but his service is not done. When he passes into the afterlife, Devos – a Paragon of Bastion – takes Uther under her wing, only to learn that some mortal wounds run deeper than she could imagine.
Beyond Azeroth’s shattered sky, a realm of infinite afterlives awaits: the Shadowlands, where mortal souls go to reckon with their pasts, discover new purpose . . . or suffer an eternity of torment. Seize your destiny beginning October 27.
World of Warcraft’s Winds of Wisdom double XP event was supposed to end on Monday April 20, but so many players complained and were sad to see it go that Blizzard has decided to extend the event. It will now run until the pre-patch for the Shadowlands expansion is launched, which should happen sometime close to summer.
So, what this really means is that you now have 2-3 more months to rake in double experience points from monsters, quests, and anything else that offers them. And, since Shadowlands doesn’t have an official release date, there’s no telling exactly when that pre-patch update will launch and Winds of Wisdom will actually end. Even once Winds of Wisdom ends, though, it won’t be long before something similar takes its place.
A second event, known as Exalt in the Impressive Influence (yeah, that’s a mouthful) will kick off sometime...
A dataminer named Martin Benjamins was datamining World of Warcraft Shadowlands code, and stumbled across game pad bindings for PS4, PS4 Pro, and PS5. Things escalated quickly from that as it was a strong hint that Blizzard could be working on porting WoW over to PlayStation consoles. Unfortunately, these rumors were shot down quickly, but there is major significance to these game pad bindings and it could change the way you play Wow forever.
Once word about the game pad bindings went live on Blizzard’s World of Warcraft forums, community manager, Randy “Kaivax” Jordan, stepped in to clarify just what these mysterious codes represent. In short, the studios has an ongoing project in which it experiments with controller support for the Shadowlands expansion.
“For a long time, we’ve seen a small number of players turn to 3rd party addons, such as Console Port 17, in order...
World of Warcraft Shodowlands, the eighth expansion enters the alpha testing phase, and some lucky players will get to chec it out for themsevles. From what we've been told, there isn’t a lot to explore, at least at the moment, but the testing phase is expected to see some expansion. At the moment, the test will be “ invite-only,” so the majority of the players will have to wait a little longer until they can try it ut for themselves.
Don’t be sad, as you’re not missing a lot. The game is still on early development, so there is not a lot of content. There will be more coming soon. At the moment, there is the starting zone, the Bastion, and the newest dungeon, The Necrotic Wake. We know what’s coming next:
Tower of the DamnedRevendrethTorghast
This content should arrive in late April, with a lot more...
Blizzard has decided to offer game-wide double XP in World
of Warcraft until April 20, 2020 via something called Winds of Wisdom – an experience
buff that increases all your gains by 100-percent. It doesn’t matter if you’re
rocking out the free-to-play edition, the Legion edition, or anything in
between, you’ll rack up experience points at twice the speed. There are two
benefits here – it’ll help convince you to stay in the house and it’ll make the
isolation time a little bit better, right?
A blurb from the official
post on the Wow Blog:
“ If you’re staying inside and find yourself returning to Azeroth, or if you’re leveling another character (or two), you’ll be getting a special bonus to help you on your way. Players will also be able to take advantage of this experience boost while still using their favorite heirlooms. It won’t take long before you’ll be facing off...
