Respawn Won’t Make a New Titanfall Because Too Many People Play Apex Legends

We’ve all been begging for Respawn to launch Titanfall 3 for a long time, but what we got was Apex Legends. The game isn’t bad, really, but the company literally shelved Titanfall 3 for Apex Legends and, to a lesser extent, Star Wars: Fallen Order. Fast forward to April and it seems as if Season Five of Apex Legends might include something Titanfall, but it’s still a far cry from a new game. Now, it looks like Titanfall 3 might never happen as Respawn has confirmed that it’s not even working on it. In an interview with IGN, Respawn co-founder, Vince Zampella shed some light on the Titanfall series: “There’s nothing currently in development. Personally like to see some kind of resurrection there. We’ll see if I can make that happen.” In a completely different statement made on Respawn’s official website for the company’s 10th anniversary,...

Apex Legends Season 5 Might Prove Respawn Hasn’t Forgotten Titanfall Fans After All

The last time we heard about Titanfall 3 was way back in April of 2019 when Respawn announced shelving the project to devote its time to Apex Legends and Star Wars: Fallen Order. Sadly, we still can’t report that Titanfall 3 is coming or even that Respawn is working on ti again, but a new hint in Game Informer Magazine does shed some hope that some more Titanfall content will be coming to Apex Legends in season five. Word comes via a Reddit poster who shared a picture of a page in the latest edition of GIM and, while we can’t make out who the developer is thanks to a poorly taken picture, we can make out something clear as day “We're always bringing in stuff from the Titanfall universe. We built an awesome world in Titanfall 1 and 2 and wanted to make sure we're...

Respawn Shelves Titanfall 3 for Apex Legends and Star Wars: Fallen Order

Despite the fact that Apex Legends is now on a downward slope after a successful launch, Respawn has set its priorities on keeping the game alive and fresh. This means that another Titanfall game – we’ve been waiting for Titanfall 3 for some time now – probably won’t see the light of day anytime soon. Of course, as far as we know, there isn’t a Titanfall 3, but we’ve heard is that, according to Respawn CEO, Vince Zampella, there will be “more Titanfall later in the year.” Now, the Executive Producer of Apex Legends, Drew McCoy, is casting shade on that concept and hints that Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order are just more important. “It is important to understand that there are entirely separate development teams working on Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,” said McCoy. “Additionally, in order to fully support Apex Legends, we are pushing out plans for...

Respawn CEO Teases Titanfall-Based Apex Legends During Superbowl LIII – Here’s What We Know

We’ve known for a while that Respawn was working on another Titanfall game. We were hoping it was a follow-up to Titanfall 2, however, it looks like it’ll actually be Apex Legends. The game is billed as a free-to-play battle royal shooter that’s based on Titanfall but won’t feature any actual Titans, if that makes sense. Outside of a broken embargo by YouTuber TheQuartering and tons of rumors we weren’t even sure if Apex Legends was real. Now, during Superbowl LIII, Respawn CEO, Vince Zampella, posted the following tweet: https://twitter.com/VinceZampella/status/1092224787928080385 Not long after that, he posted another tweet that shows off a very vague, peripheral view of his monitor as he plays none other than Apex Legends: https://twitter.com/VinceZampella/status/1092259339023220736 Of course, we knew this was coming. EA flew a whole bunch of streamers and YouTubers, and paid them, to participate in a secret event in Los Angeles last week where they all got to play the game. Tonight, almost at the...
