Fresh on the heels of news that The Outer Worlds is launching on Steam on October 23, new word has surfaced that game studio Obsidian is working on a new game that could be a sequel or a spin-off. Word comes from senior video games industry analyst, Daniel Ahmad of Niko Partners via Twitter.
Last I heard a new entry in the franchise is being explored, currently in pre-production. Could change into something else ofc, but this is the current status. https://t.co/OGvfHjycNu— Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) October 11, 2020
With that in mind, we do know that The Outer Worlds will make the transition to the PS5 and Xbox Series X, with Obsidian working hard to make it happen sooner than later. However, Obsidian is now an Xbox Games studio, and that’s where problems with the next game in the series might lie.
With Obsidian being an...
Just a week after we announced that The Outer Worlds was coming to Nintendo Switch this March, the company has peddled back and say that the game has been delayed without any hint as to how long the delay will be.
To clarify, the team at Virtuos is ok, but their office has remained closed during this time. We're working with the team to determine an updated development timeline, and will share more regarding a new launch date shortly.— Private Division (@PrivateDivision) February 6, 2020
Fortunately, nobody at any of the company’s studios have
been affected by the virus, so this is more of a preventative measure than
anything else. So far, there isn’t word on an updated release plan, but it does
look like the game will actually be released on a physical cartridge – a big
and unexpected change as the original plan included only digital...
If you’ve been hiding under a rock for the few months, The
Outer Worlds is an open-world role-playing action game that developed by
Obsidian Entertainment. It launched on PS4, Xbox One, and PC back in October
and has won over a lot of players despite having a shorter storyline. The
storyline of the game is excellent, and even as a longer game, there are enough
characters, quests, and places to explore that you won’t get bored. The only
downside was that you couldn’t get it on Nintendo Switch, but that will change
come March 6, 2020.
The game will be available via brick and motor locations as well as Nintendo’s EShop, however, you probably shouldn’t even bother going to the store. The game itself is so large that it can’t be backed onto a Switch cartridge, so even if you do buy the retail version, all you’ll get is a download...

Obsidian, now under Microsoft ownership, is returning to the open-world RPG genre, and this launch trailer proves that it pulled out all the stops. As you’ll see from the video, you’ll be able to define your own playstyle and personality. As the launch trailer points out you can be a hero, villain, colonist, brawler, assassin, priest, psychopath, liar, swindler, cook,or even a moon man that sells soap, among other roles.
Throughout the trailer, we get to see amazing alien
landscapes and stunning skies, all mixed in with the occasional deadly blow or
closeup of a weapon. Clearly, we’re in for one hell of a game and it’ll launch
on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PS4 on October 25th, 2019 with
the PC version being available via the Epic Game Store and, not surprisiningly,
the Microsoft Store. The basic version of the game will sell for $49.99, but if
you...
