If you haven't paid attention to Elder Scrolls Online or the Greymoor expansion, then today is your lucky day as Zenimax Online Studios has annoucned that Elderscrolls Online and the prologue chapter for the Greymoor expansion will be free to play. The base game is free to play on all platforms until April 16, but those playing from Steam will only have free access until April 6th. All other platforms will have access for the full term.
So, what if you've already purchased the base game? Well, you kind of get the shaft, but you'll still be able to play the prologue chapter for free. If you're unaware, Greymoor is a well-awaited expansion, which will continue the story of the Dark Heart of Skyrim - a story that will run for an entire year. You will follow quests in which you will encounter familiar NPCs, like Lyris Titanborn. The main plot of the whole chapter is to find out who’s threatening the life of Skald-King Jorunn.
If you’ve wanted to try Elder Scrolls online for yourself, but aren't sure if you'll like the game, then this is your chance to try it out for free. Now, you must know that many updates have occurred, and the game has changed a lot in just a few years. This weekend, you will be able to try it for free on PC, PS4 or Xbox One. Don’t worry about losing progress - if you love the game and decide to buy it, you will begin your quest where you will left off this weekend.
That’s right, there is no “demo” or a character that will disappear after the “free trial” expires. The game requires only one payment if you choose to buy it after the free play weekend, and after that, you will be able to play with no problems. If you really get into it, then you can pay more every month for a juicy reward.
