Respawn Won’t Make a New Titanfall Because Too Many People Play Apex Legends

We’ve all been begging for Respawn to launch Titanfall 3 for a long time, but what we got was Apex Legends. The game isn’t bad, really, but the company literally shelved Titanfall 3 for Apex Legends and, to a lesser extent, Star Wars: Fallen Order. Fast forward to April and it seems as if Season Five of Apex Legends might include something Titanfall, but it’s still a far cry from a new game. Now, it looks like Titanfall 3 might never happen as Respawn has confirmed that it’s not even working on it. In an interview with IGN, Respawn co-founder, Vince Zampella shed some light on the Titanfall series: “There’s nothing currently in development. Personally like to see some kind of resurrection there. We’ll see if I can make that happen.” In a completely different statement made on Respawn’s official website for the company’s 10th anniversary, Zampella said, “ near and dear to everyone here at Respawn, as it’s...

Apex Legends Season 5 – What You Need to Know

Apex Legends Season 5 kicks off on May 12, and with it comes a new legend – Loba – and a new PvE mode called Season Questions. But there’s a lot more to it than that, and this is what you need to know about it. Apex Legends Season 5 Gameplay Trailer https://youtu.be/quACziGJqQM Apex Legends Season 5 Battle Pass Along with the new season comes a new battle pass. This one will have over 100 new items that include Legendary Skins, Apex Packs, and probably a bunch of different Loba Skins. Season Quests Season Quests are completely new to Apex Legends and, really, any battle royale game out there. Based on what we can tell from the gameplay trailer that we’ve embedded above, the goal will be to help Loba add “rare and valuable treasure” to her collection. You’ll...

Apex Legends is Undoubtedly Coming to Xbox Series X and PS5

It’s still a little too early to tell, but all signs are pointing to Respawn Entertainment porting Apex Legends over to the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5. Supporting evidence comes straight from the jobs page on Electronic Arts’ website, so the source on this one is actually quite credible. The job listing is for a Senior Rendering Engineer at Respawn Entertainment, and one of the main duties is to “push next-gen platforms and the PC to their limits on Apex Legends.” Of course, that doesn’t specifically refer to the PS5 or XBX, but the reference is pretty clear. Both systems are scheduled to arrive for the holiday season this year, so it makes complete sense, especially given the games popularity among players of all ages. It’s so popular, in fact, that Respawn is currently working on porting it over to mobile devices and could, potentially, bring crossplay into the mix. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, and if it...

Apex Legends Will Probably Never Have Solos as a Permanent Game Mode

As part of the April 7th update to Apex Legends (4.2 update) Duos was brought back to Apex Legends after being available for a limited time a few times in 2019 and more recently for Valentine’s Day 2020. Duos is now a permanent fixture in Apex Legends as is a permanent map rotation. Duos came back because there was always a positive effect on the game every time it was made available for a limited time. Solos, on the other hand, was a completely different story. In a recent post on EA forums, it was explained that Solos just doesn’t fit with the game’s underlying co-op elements.  Two- or three-person teams work well, and duos even had a positive effect in terms of “the game’s healthy in regards to queue times and gameplay systems in addition to reinforcing teamplay.” Because Solos mode eliminates the cooperative framework, the effect was largely negative to the point that it actually hurt new player retention. https://youtu.be/Z0gXZS9XcBM

Apex Legends Crossplay – The Feature We Want But Aren’t Getting

Apex Legends has evolved almost continuously since it launched in early 2019 with new maps, weapons, operators, and various improvements yet, here we are more than a year in and crossplay has yet to be added to the game. Competing games like Fortnite, Destiny 2, and even Call of Duty Warzone have it, so why doesn’t Apex Legends? Well, the General Manager of Apex Legends, Dusty Welch, and the game’s director, Chad Grenier, sat down with Game Informer to discuss season 4 and in that interview, they were asked about the status of crossplay. With crossplay originally being discussed when Apex Legends was launched, where it’s at is a question on just about everybody’s mind. The truth is, that it’s difficult to implement and just isn’t ready yet. “I think on crossplay we see it's something that is kind of expected in the industry and is important to a game like ours. Chad and I are obviously big fans of playing our game at work and...

Apex Legends Season 5 Might Prove Respawn Hasn’t Forgotten Titanfall Fans After All

The last time we heard about Titanfall 3 was way back in April of 2019 when Respawn announced shelving the project to devote its time to Apex Legends and Star Wars: Fallen Order. Sadly, we still can’t report that Titanfall 3 is coming or even that Respawn is working on ti again, but a new hint in Game Informer Magazine does shed some hope that some more Titanfall content will be coming to Apex Legends in season five. Word comes via a Reddit poster who shared a picture of a page in the latest edition of GIM and, while we can’t make out who the developer is thanks to a poorly taken picture, we can make out something clear as day “We're always bringing in stuff from the Titanfall universe. We built an awesome world in Titanfall 1 and 2 and wanted to make sure we're bringing that forward. I will say this: there could potentially be a pleasant surprise for Titanfall fans in season five.”

Valentine’s Day will run late in Apex Legends battlefield

Apex Legends’ Valentine’s Day Event may have been delayed, but it's alive and well now. The famous lovers day event isn’t a perfect fit for a lot of video games, but, with a little makeup, even a battle royale like Apex Legends can make it work. Since it is all about love, we’ll have the choice to play duos again, making it more challenging to get that champion title. Besides the duo matchmaking, players that log in during the event will be rewarded with a 2020’s Valentine badge. There will also be two new weapon charms, Nessie and Pathfinder, available to purchase. This wouldn't be an Apex event without the double exp boost “Double up”. You will be able to get up to 2000xp every day just for playing with your duo partner. Speaking about events, last year's rewards will also be available to buy in-store at a lower price than usual. Here we’re talking about the heart skin for the longbow DMR and the...

Apex Legends Season 4 – Assimilation Launch Trailer

Revenant used to be human. He was the greatest hitman the Mercenary Syndicate ever had. But when his programming eventually failed, he saw what Hammond Robotics had turned him into: a walking nightmare of steel and vestigial flesh. The return of Hammond Robotics to the Outlands has renewed his thirst for vengeance, and he won’t stop until they’re all dead. Of course, he doesn’t mind eviscerating a few Legends along the way.

New Details Revealed for Apex Legends Season 4: Assimilation

Respawn and Electronic Arts have finally revealed some information for Apex Legends’ fourth season, and we have some good news for you. First and foremost, Kings Canyon, the original map, is coming back. Things will be a little different this time around though. During Assimilation, Ranked Mode will be split into two different series. The first will kick off with the new season on February 4, 2020 and will run until March 23. The very next day, on March 24, series 2 will kick off and run until May 5th, the official end date for Season 4. As was the case in Season 3: Meltdown, your rank will drop two levels at the start of the season and will reset again when the second series kicks off, so you’ll earn two different rankings. Your best ranking will determine your end-of-season rewards. That’s where the twist comes into play, though, as you won’t get to play on Kinds Canyon right away. The first series will be played on the familiar map, World’s Edge. When the second series...
