We recently told you that Bioshock, XCOM2, and Borderlands Legendary Collections were coming to the Nintendo Switch, and now we’ve learned that The Borderlands Collection won’t suffer from art asset degradation and will be able to run at 1080P while delivering 30 FPS with ease. Even better yet, the developer has added in motion controls specific to the Nintendo Switch console.
Word of this comes direction from Turn Me Up, one of the companies involved in porting Borderlands Legendary Collection over to the Nintendo Switch.
“We worked tirelessly with 2K and Gearbox to bring these ravenously requested classics to Switch in full 1080p, at 30 FPS and with no downgrading of art assets. On top of that, we included all the trimmings of the GOTY releases — and newly developed motion controls specifically built for this incredible collection.”
This is actually a huge development when you consider what happened to Borderlands 2 when it launched on the PS Vita way back when. At the time, the PS Vita wasn’t capable of handling such an intense game, so developers had to reduce enemy counts, cap visuals, and make other sacrifices. Fortunately for us, the Nintendo Switch is designed to handle intense games, so we’ll be able to play Borderlands on the go without giving up quality.
