Reliable Leaker Casts Shade on PS5 Price and 4K Capabilities

If This Rumor Is True, The Xbox Series X May End Up Being the Better Console

Aesthetic Gamer has a pretty good history of accurate leaks, but they are usually associated with games. This time around, he’s claiming that not only with the PlayStation 5 cost more than the Xbox Series X but that it will struggle with delivering 4K – something Sony is said to be combating with “Fake 4K,” whatever that means. With AG’s experience in leaking Resident Evil information, with the most recent leak being that Resident Evil Village will be the longest of the series thus far. That said, it shouldn’t be surprising that this leak about the PS5 is directly related to Resident Evil Village (RE8).

In this specific post, he claims that he’s heard the same from other devs, not just those in charge of making RE Village. Unfortunately, he stopped short of giving us any other information, but if this really is the case, Xbox could have a big step up on the PS5. What I really want to know about is what exactly does “fake 4K” mean? It could be something along the lines of extra-sharp graphics or textures or scaled up images to 4K resolution. Chances are that if the rumor is true, we’ll never hear it from Sony, and the proof will be in the pudding anyway.

The good news is that we won’t have to wait for very long. Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox Series X will launch sometime in November, with rumors saying it’ll happen on November 6th. Sony has yet to give even a vague release date outside of holiday season 2020 for the PlayStation 5, but release of both consoles is on the horizon anyway. Now, if one company could just release a price, so we can decide which to buy first, that would be great.
