You probably knew that the Resident Evil 3 remake was coming, but what you didn’t know is that it was developed alongside the Resident Evil 2 remake, and that means that some things will carry over? The most important aspect of this carryover is the fact that some of the AI that made Mr. X so brutal in RE2 will be implemented into Nemesis in RE3.
A long story short, RE3 won’t be a completely open world, but the map will be opened up significantly compared to the original and Nemesis will play a big part in that. Much like Mr. X was able to tear through almost the entire police station in RE2, Nemesis will be able to show up just about anywhere on the RE3 map – a huge change compared to the original game.
We certainly took some elements that we learning from putting together Resident Evil 2’s Tyrant, but Nemesis is his own brand of terror and a relentless pursuer who can use weapons.
In the original Nemesis only showed up during cutscenes and sported different weapons and attacks each time we saw him, and that was scary enough. So, can you imagine Nemesis having full run of the RE3 map, always potentially right around the corner?
The Resident Evil 3 remake will be released in April 2020 on consoles and PC, so we only have a few months to prepare for Nemesis’ return. Stay tuned for updates!
