It’s always surprising how modders can change a game in such a drastic way. The Jurrasic Life mod for Half-Life 2 is nothing new, but the fact that it now has an ending is. Jurassic Life is a Half-Life 2 mod that brings the half-life world into famous Jurassic Park franchise, with all the surroundings, locations, and most important, the dinosaurs.
There is no way they could add all the dinosaurs, but we have to work with what we have. The equipment is also changed, just like in the movies, and there is a large variety of guns, but the most important is the machete, isn’t it? The mod will put us on the role of a warden, Robert Muldoon, and we must capture the escaped dinosaurs. As the video shows, we will be able to use the new “leafs” to hide.
You don’t have to take my word for it, here is the mod description that shows how much work went into finishing the mod and how glad they modders are to see their final product being ready to play.
“The Jurassic Life story campaign finally can be played out from the very first cut-scene to the final credits, it’s been a long journey, but we’ve made it.”
There are a lot of great mods, on many other games, not just Half-Life 2, with lots of potential, but sadly most of them are left unchecked. Jurassic Life is a good example of what greatness mods can bring to gamers, hopefully in the future we’ll get a sequel the this mod, or something even better. The Jurrasic Life mod will launch in full sometime in 2020.
