A new “action-stealth-strategy” game with a SWAT-theme is under development and it’s about to enter its first open beta testing phase. Known as Hot Brass, it’s a top-down tactics game with a variety of different maps and scenarios that are more focused on strategy than shooting, although it looks like there’s definitely some shooting too.
As you can see from some of the screen shots (and the video above,) some of the maps have several points of entry and exit, different lighting, and – even better yet – a lot of objects and walls are destructible. That latter part is great in terms of being an advantage, but you can also be blasted out of cover and exposed too.
Hot Brass supports up to four players locally or via online co-op which, given the nature of online gaming, could create quite a challenge. After all, the point of the game is to execute a mission perfectly with no infractions and no casualties.
As of now, there’s no set release date, but that open beta test kicks off on February 20, and you can get it on it by heading over to hotbrassgame.com to sign up or check out more about the game.
