Hitman 3 Is Landing on Nintendo Switch, But There’s a Catch

You’ll get to play as Agent 47 on the Switch Soon, but you’ll need a good internet connection

During The recent Nintendo Direct Mini October Showcase, it was revealed that Hitman 3 – Cloud Version would be landing on the Nintendo switch. However, the downside is that you’ll need to be connected to the internet to actually play.

The trailer you see below, shows Hitman 47 leaping from an aircraft and then scaling up a skyscraper. Obviously, the graphics are intense and a little beyond the Switch’s paygrade, which is why you’ll see the disclaimer at the end, reading “uses cloud streaming technology.”

So, you better hope you have a stable and permanent internet connection. To help you decide whether or not your internet is worthy, Nintendo and IO Interactive are offering a free launcher application that’s “required to test the game for a limited about of time” before you’re able to actually purchase the game. How all of this will work is still a bit of a mystery, but it seems like – if we understand the announcement for the Control Ultimate Edition – that you’ll get access to a trial of sorts until you buy the access pass. If your internet isn’t up to par, you’ll be disconnect from the trail.

As for when Hitman 3 will land on the Nintendo Switch, that remains a complete mystery. It will land on most other platforms on January 20, 2021, but the Switch trailer above just says “coming to Nintendo Switch,” so we assume it will be released sometime later on in 2021.
