Here’s What’s Free on the Epic Games Store This Week

We could get used to the idea of free games every week, and it doesn’t look like the Epic Games Store is going to stop anytime soon. Even if these free games aren’t big titles like “Metro Exodus” or “Ancestors The humankind Odyssey,” it can still be a happy experience or a true challenge. This week’s games focus on exploring and surviving.

Abzu On the Epic Games Store

ABZU presents gorgeous views, as we saw in “Journey” and “Flower,” only this time we take a deep breath and we explore the underwater world in all its glory and beauty. The game starts with the main character floating above the water, probably after an unfortunate event. Even if the background is made in a cartoon-style, it still captures your eye, but the fish’s reaction to some of the player’s moves makes it look much more alive. As you progress through the game, you will discover “ancient technology” that has been lost but, more importantly, you will have to discover what is disturbing your surroundings.

So what are you waiting for? Hop on a fish and start exploring, and yes you can definitely “ride” fish in this game. Abzu is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, although, it’s only free on the PC via the Epic Games Store.

The End is Nigh on The Epic Games Store

The End is Nigh, is set on a post-apocalyptic world, presented in a 2D view. The game itself looks very easy, as you jump around and eating other smaller creatures. And there are walking tumors. The game is based on different difficulty puzzles and “parkour” moves which can get you killed pretty much from the start if you’re not careful. The End is Nigh is available on PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch but it’s only available for free on PC via the Epic Games Store.

Even if these games are focused on small ideas, they still require focus and “tactics” to complete them, at least for The End is Nigh, that in case you just start jumping randomly on the map hoping to succeed. I tried that, it didn’t work. Both games will be free until next Thursday, September 12th, so you better hurry up and snag your copies now!ß
