Google Adds Two More Free (One Old) Games For Stadia Pro Subscribers

If you currently own a Google Stadia and subscribe to a Stadia Pro account, then you’re about get free access to Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and Farm Simulator 19. These titles join Destiny 2: The Collection and Samurai Showdown as 100-percent free-to-play games. It’s worth mentioning that every current Stadia user is a Stadia Pro subscriber since only the Founder and Premiere editions of Staida have launched so far and they came along with a three-month subscription for free.

That also means that if you sign up for Stadia before the end of the year, you’ll also get access to the free games as part of the three-month trial that comes with it. If you’ve already purchased any of the games that are now being offered for free, you can simply go into your account and select the refund button – the caveat to this is, however, that you must have played the game for less than two hours to get the refund.

Expect Google to push the Stadia Pro subscription hard next year once the initial launch and tuning has rolled out. The subscription will continue to offer free games on a regular basis much like Xbox Games with Gold or the free games offered to those with PlayStation Plus accounts. There’s no word about how often new games will be added to the free games list, but Google has a lot of ground to make up if it’s going to not only compete with Xbox and PlayStation, but make up for the lack of promised features at Stadia’s launch.

If you’re thining about canceling your Stadia Pro subscription, you will lose access to the free games, along with the ability to enjoy 4K streaming, but you’ll still have access to games you’ve bought outright.
