Fortnite Team Rumble Gets Overhauled Ahead of Chapter 2 Season 2 Launch

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 is just a day away and Epic Games has decided to overhaul Team Rumble and make some much-needed changes.

Word comes via an official developer post on Reddit, and it highlights the changes that will help streamline and improve the mode’s remaining rough patches. Going forward, you won’t even have to dedicate an inventory spot for the glider redeploy. How’s that for good news? But wait, there’s more!

Fortnite C2S2 Team Rumble Changes

  • All weapons are now Rare (blue) rarity or better
  • Bandages removed
  • Glider redeployment now a free ability – no longer takes up an inventory slot
  • 150 of each material granted to each player at the start of the match
  • Skill-based matchmaking disabled
  • Increased elimination goal to 125

Aside from all of this, there’s one other big tweak to mention. Matchmaking was once skill based in Team Rumble, much like it is in other modes. While that makes sense in most cases, for Team Rumble, mixing all skill levels will make the mode more challenging and more fun. And, now that each player starts out with 150 of each material, you won’t waste any time searching around for what you need.

While this isn’t a big deal for a lot of players, we should point out that as casually as this news has been released, there’s a good chance that Epic has some major stuff coming when C2S2 kicks off tomorrow. Stay tuned to learn more about that as it happens!
