Fleet Carriers are Finally Coming to Elite Dangerous

If you’re not aware, Elite Dangerous is a massive, MMO game that puts in you the role of a starship captain. There are a lot of things you can do – engage in combat, explore the full milkyway, act as a transport captain, among many others. But, what happens when you have a lot of ships, need a place to repair them, or want to get into the business of transporting ships for others? Well, Fleet Carriers are finally coming and they are finally ready to enter beta testing.

April 7th will mark the beginning of the beta tests, but the carriers won’t be available until later May, unfortunately. Next week we will get a new trailer, and Frontier will present one looks at fleet carrier gameplay. This will take place on April 2nd on a Livestream. The new carriers will not only be the latest feature, but they will also be the more expensive in the whole galaxy, at the price of 5BN credits. A single carrier will have up to 16 different pads. Each one of them will have a different size and will be able to accomodate different ships. Besides a lot of space the fleet carriers will be able to jump up to 500 light-years in one go.

Once you acquire one, you will decide what kind of business you want. There will be a lot of services available for players, so you can be selective, and focus just on the big ones, but you can also open all of of them, what could go wrong? You will help other people trade, of course, and if you help other players transport thier ships, payment won’t be an issue. After so long without payment, you’ll be able to claim or sell their ship for parts. Is this a game or the real world?
