WoW Classic is set to launch today, but Blizzard has come forward with word that it expects “severe queues” on its busiest servers when the game goes live. To help alleviate the high demand, Blizzard will open two new PvP servers or “realms,” as we know them – one for the Eastern time zone and one for players on the Pacific coast. The new realms will open for registration at 10 am PDT, which gives you five hours to get setup before the game officially goes live at 3pm PDT or 6pm Est.
As part of this announcement, Blizzard said, “We urge players on realms marked Full or High to plan to play on one of these new realms to avoid the longest queues, and to help spread the player population as evenly as possible”
In the company’s last server update, it said that Faerlina, Herod, Mankrik, Pagle, Thalnos, and Whitemane servers were already overcrowded, and that queues on the busiest realms would last several hours at best. As such, it’s probably best to double check where you’ve reserved your slot for Wow Classic and consider moving to one of the new servers before the game goes live.
