For those of you that hoped Cyberpunk 2077 would involve some fun on four wheels, you can finally breath easy as CD Projekt Red has delivered. This new video, titled “Rides of the Dark Future,” shows off the five classes of vehicles that you’ll get to drive around Night City. As you can see from the video, this is above and beyond all the teasers we’ve received thus far.
You’ll be able to buy vehicles or you’ll be able to steal them – a page clearly taken from Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V. The five classes of vehicle include Economy, Executive, Heavy Duty, Sport, and Hypercars. There will also be plenty of variation among the classes, including on an individual basis. Pristine cars that have been well maintained, for example, will handle and drive better than cars that have had a rougher life. You’ll even be able to modify your vehicles and tune them to fit your racing needs.
That said, all but one vehicle will be original creations designed by the CD Projekt Red team, however, Johnny Silverhand does own a real-life 1977 Porsche 930 911 – a car that is, quite literally, 100 years old at the time of the game. This is, of course, the only officially licensed vehicle in the game, even if some of the other vehicles are…ahem…. Inspired by real-life vehicles that we know and love today.
