Call of Duty’s big team games have always seemed just a little more fun to some of us – better than
running around in a room of 12 people, anyway. Then, when Black Ops 4 hit the
scene, we were surprised shortly thereafter with an all-new Battle Royale mode
known as Blackout. Now, if you’re a fan of battle royale games, then you have no option but to check out
COD’s latest multiplayer game mode. Now, as part of the announcement for the
new Alcatraz multiplayer map, Activision has announced that Blackout will be
free-to-play for anyone, regardless of your system, for the entire month of
April. Before I get into telling you how to get your hands on it while you
still can, let me explain why you want to.
See, COD 4’s Blackout game mode takes battle royale to an
all-new level. It puts 100 people in a massive, custom-built map where, like
other battle royale games, you’ll hunt
down weapons, armor, and perks before you attempt to put the other 99 players
in the room to bed. The goal is simple –
Hearing about Team Sonic Racing might not be as exciting as
hearing about a new Mario Kart, but it’s exciting nonetheless. Produced by Sumo
Digital – the same hours that brought us
Sonic & All-Star Racing Transformed – this new kart racer is set to be
extremely fast-paced and smooth. Of
course, this is a new take on the typical kart-racing formula as you’ll be able
to race online with up to 12 friends (or complete strangers,) play in
split-screen mode (something you can’t do in most racing games these days), and
you’ll even be able to customize your kart. Team Sonic Racing will either be a
complete hit or a total dud, but we have
to admit that personalizing and customizing karts and playing online does sound
like a hell of a lot of fun. Team Sonic Racing will arrive on May 21st
and is playable on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC.
Of all the gameplay modes to have ever graced the Devil May
Cry series, Bloody Palace has to be the most intense and it has finally been released for Devil May Cry 5. It’s available
for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 as a free update right now, and will pit you against swarms
of enemies inside a 101-floor dungeon. Just like the original game mode that debuted
in Devil May Cry 2, Bloody Palace is a very lengthy challenge that will test
your skills beyond anything DMC5 has challenged you with thus far.
While it is available as a free download right now, you may
not be able to play it right away. As you might expect, the game mode needs to
be unlocked, and you’ll need to complete the game on Human or Devil Hunter mode
if you want to indulge. Once the end credits have played upon completion of the
game, Bloody Palace game mode will be easily accessible via the main menu. As
was the case in previous games, the whole point of this game mode is to fight
through long sets...
