Microsoft is Adding Six New Games to Xbox Game Pass Today… We Think

If you’re not aware of what Xbox Game Pass is, it’s a subscription service that gives you access to a decent selection of games for just $10 per month, but it’s only available for your Xbox One console for now. Right now, there’s more than 100 games for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 (backward compatible, of course) and a handful of indie games as well. Bigger titles include Fallout 4, Crackdown 3, Gears of War 4, a bunch of Halo games, Just Cause 3, and Sea of Thieves. You can even download Playunknown’s Battlegrounds as part of the subscription as well. Now, it looks like Microsoft is getting ready to add six new games to its library today if this cryptic tweet is to be believed: https://twitter.com/XboxGamePass/status/1115374687444332544 It’s not like it’s been a long time since Microsoft has added new games. Sea of Thieves, for instance, was actually launched via the subscription service, giving subscribers immediate access to the new game with no upfront cost. And, last week, Microsoft added Minecraft to the library as well. For now, we don’t know what games Microsoft will be adding...

Liberated is a New Graphic Novel Game That Touches Recent Events With Old-School Gameplay

With new data breaches happening what seems like every day, technology taking over us, fake news everywhere, and crooked politicians crawling out the woodwork, life has gotten pretty crazy, and it almost feels like we need to be liberated. Well, that’s exactly the basis of this new playable, graphic novel from independent developer Atomic Wolf. Known only by the name “Liberated,” the game explores all the facets of common day life from crooked politicians to technology consuming every minute of our lives. Even better, the storyline comes via a comic-book-style storyline with each part of the story being playable. The backstory of this game… uh, graphic novel… is a simple one. It’s a story about technological surveillance taking our freedom away as government authorities attempt to manipulate the world population. Civil rights are non-existent while every single person is under constant surveillance via social media, online payments, and GPS tracking, among other things. Sound familiar? Well, we’re not there quite yet, but who’s to say it’s not in our future? Back to the story at hand, you play as an insurgent that is resisting this oppression and fighting...

Prepare to Be Penalized if you Leave an Apex Legends Match Early

Are you someone that likes to skip out on matches early because you went don’t and don’t want to stick around until the end? It’s understandable – that can get rather boring. But, that’s just too bad because pretty soon, Apex Legends will start penalizing you if you skip out of a match before you’re actually dead. In other words, no skipping out before your time for revival has passed. This penalty came as part of the Apex Legends 1.1 update that also came along with another problem – some players logged on to find out that their accounts had been reset. This was noticed about as quickly as the aforementioned penalty, but Respawn managed to take care of that issue without any lasting effects quickly enough – all is back to normal. And, the early-leave penalty has also be removed for now as well. It’s something that’s in the works but wasn’t intended to be released just yet as there as still some parameters that need to be addressed before it can officially go live. When Will the Apex Legends Early Leave Penalty Go Live? Outside...

Today’s Patch for Anthem Addresses Drop Rates and Elysian Caches

Anthem players have noticed that they are getting a lot of loot for Javelins that they just aren’t using, a problem that was caused by a bug that is finally being addressed today. Apparently, getting components for Javelins that you’re not using should be a rare occurrence and not something that happens on a regular. Today’s patch will greatly reduce your chances of this occurring, and it’ll also make loot earned from an Elysian Cache show up as soon as the stronghold finishes. Jesse Anderson, Anthem’s Global Community Manager too to Twitter, announcing the fix for today, saying “It should be very rare now, if you’re playing Storm you should almost always get Storm components or Universal components.” https://twitter.com/Darokaz/status/1114310208946307073 Of course, this news comes on the heels of other Anthem-based news including the fact that the game underwent a name change just prior to its reveal at E3 in 2017. It has also been said that Dragon Age 4 development was rebooted to help fix Anthem and, while that news was criticized by BioWare, studio boss, Casey Hudson, actually admitted...

Bethesda is Adding Pay-to-Win Items to Fallout 76 and Fans Are Pissed

As if Fallout 76 isn’t considered one of the worst fallout games to date – seriously, even if you like it, a lot of people don’t – Bethesda is now adding pay-to-win items to the atomic shop. I’m talking about, of course, the new Repair Kit feature that is being launched with Patch 8. According to Bethesda, there will be two different types of kits: a basic kit and an improved kit. But, how does this fall into the pay-to-win scenario? After all, Bethesda assured us that Fallout 76 wouldn't include pay-to-win items, right? Well, according to Bethesda, the “Improved Repair Kits” are rare items that Bethesda plans to award as you take on various types on in-game content. Basic Repair Kits, on the other hand, will be unlockable in the atomic store using atoms that you’ve earned while completing in-game challenges or that you’ve purchased. And, there it is – “atoms that you’ve purchased.” You either have to complete a bunch of in-game challenges or just – conveniently – buy some atoms. It’s already well known that fans are challenging Bethesda’s decision...

Since the Tidal Basin Update, It’s Nearly Impossible to Find Signature Weapons Ammo in The Division 2

The Tidal Basin update for Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 was launched just a couple of days ago, and there’s already a serious bug that’s making rounds. Apparently, most players are having a hard time finding ammo for signature weapons while some players can’t find any ammo at all. The bug seems to be affecting all specializations for now, but Ubisoft is reportedly looking into the problem. https://twitter.com/TheDivisionGame/status/1114333611229106177 Reports have been sent out across the usual channels, namely Twitter and Reddit, with some players claiming that they haven’t found any signature weapons ammo after hours of play. For now, the only workaround we know of is to go back to the White House, switch specializations, then swap back and that should refill your specialized weapon ammo. Yeah, it’s a real pain in the ass, but it’s the best you can do for now. If you’re not sure of everything that came with the Tidal Basin update for The Division 2, you can check out our full coverage of the update while you wait for Ubisoft to hunt down and squash this bug. Don’t Expect to be a Loot Ninja in Borderlands 3

In Borderlands 2, one of the worst parts about playing co-op (to some, anyway) was being forced to fight over loot after every firefight. If you got there first, you get your pick, leaving those that weren’t as close left to scavenge through anything you didn’t want. Scott Kester, the Art Director for Gearbox Software, has said that won’t be an issue with Borderlands 3 as players will now separate loot after each firefight. So, in other words, you won’t have to rush to get there first if a good gun is dropped – you’ll be able to pick up your loot when you feel like it so, you know, take your time. That’s not all Kester said in his recent PlayStation blog post, and it gets even better. When Borderlands 3 is released, it will be more flexible about people you can team up with in co-op. So, even if you’re slow to get the game and are at a lower level than your buddies, you’ll still be able to make a big impact. And, to make matters even better, your mission progress won’t restrict who...

Thanks to Battlefield 5’s April Update We Know that French Soldier Skins are Probably Coming

It’s only been a couple of days since DICE initiated its most recent and very significant patch for Battlefield 5. The most important aspect of the update was all of the technical issues that were fixed. Beyond that, however, DICE also took care of some gameplay balancing issues and added some new content as well. That isn’t all that we got, though, as known Battlefield 5 data miner, temporyal, came across something quite interesting – French soldier skins. The French solder skins were found within the updated game files installed as part of the April patch. Of course, there’s no guarantee that they’ll actually make it into the game at this point, so don’t set your hopes too high. That said, they are already inside the game files, so they are either planned for release or were planned to be released at some point in time. This could be reparation for the next DLC pack, or it could just be wishful thinking – we’ll just have to wait and see. In other news, Battlefield Currency is now in full play and, believe it or not, even months...

Borderlands 3 September Release Date Confirmed; Will be an Epic Store Exclusive on PC

Despite the reveal-trailer theories that Borderlands 3 could be released on October 1st, Gearbox Software and 2K Games have confirmed, as expected after that leaked tweet, that Borderlands 3 will be released on September 13, 2019. It will be available to play on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC but, what some feared from the very beginning, PC versions of the game will only be available through the Epic Game Store for the time being. It will reside next to a long list of Epic exclusive games that include The Division 2, the Quantic Dreams games, Control, and even Metro Exodus. If you’re someone who’s largely against the Epic Games store, 2K Games has said that by April 2020, “the game will be available on additional digital storefronts.” What We Know About Borderlands 3 We have learned more than the Epic Store exclusive status and the official release date, though, including the fact that it will follow in the footsteps of Borderlands 1 and Borderlands 2. By that, we mean that there will be an outrageous number of guns, plenty of vehicles to tear ass and wreak mayhem in,...
