According to a new report from VGC, which quotes “people involved with its development,” Call of Duty Warzone Season 5 will come with a huge update to Verdansk. This update could mark a major evolution for the map and will likely include the opening of the stadium and the addition of a train (full of loot) that will circle the map similar to that of Apex Legends.
As you already know, Verdansk will continue to evolve to some extent as the meta-narrative of the game mode evolves and ultimately revealed a new call of duty title. It will also serve to bridge the gap between Modern Warfare and the next COD game, likely Black Ops: Cold War. Warzone will also be integrated into the next COD game too. When you think about the newly opened bunkers, the nuclear warhead, and all the ringing phones, a link to the Cold War is blatantly obvious.
The only question now is whether or not these changes for Season 5 will fall hand-in-hand with an official announcement and trailer for Black Ops: Cold War. The current season in Call of Duty is expected to run until August 2020, so expect season 5 to kick off sometime in early-to-mid August at the earliest.
