There are many turn based games, but most of them are focusing on either magic or swords and bows. Now we have a game that features soldiers in WW1 and it’s a game we’ve always deserved but never had.
The main story focuses on the journey of a group of soldiers trapped behind enemies line. You decide where your soldiers will position and if the situation was a bad call, you can always pause and rethink your decisions. The game can always surprise you with unexpected threats. Different options will appear, and some of the choices you make will affect future encounters. Every decision will affect your story and perhaps your reputation.
“We believe traditional turn-based strategy gamers will tremendously enjoy Broken Lines, and there’s plenty to love for those that crave a rich story-driven experience and a look at the impact that war has on the human psyche” As Hans von Knut Skovfoged, the PortaPlay director mentioned.
Eatch soldier will have his own story and his own unique relationship with the other characters. The events that you choose will affect your character’ss mental health, so take care of them as much as you can.
We’ll start with the basic game personas:
- Scot- He’s young, and he rushes to do a job even if it’s not the most lucid solution.
- Medic- He’s new to war, but believes that there is always a positive solution instead of mass destruction
- Basic military- He executes orders and loves the old ways
- The veteran- He’s been in worse scenarios and is not affected by the “horrors of war”
