I assume that Asus waited a long time before dropping “the bomb” at CES, as it jsut announced the newest ultra-slim Zephyrus G14 and G15 laptop to go with the ROG Strix GA15/GT15 and the ROG Strix Ga35/GT35 desktops.
Let’s start with the new gaming laptops, which you can guess from the name, is ultra-slim. That means less weight to carry around – it weights just 1.6kg or 3.52 pounds. All of this in a small chassis of 17.9mm or 0.70 inches. At the moment, they’re only available with the AMD Ryzen 4800U 8-core/16 thread processors.
Now, don’t get fooled by the small design, this bad boy can run almost any game at 60 fps with no problems at all. And, you don’t need to buy an external GPU like that new Lenovo Y740S. You can also find on this laptop the popular AniMe Matrix, as Asus team named, aaprogrammable Led dot which is in the lid. Speaking about G15, well it’s larger, with 19.9mm and the weight of 2.1kg. The RGB lights were replaced with white lights.
When we talk about hardware, the laptops will come with and RTX 2060 GPU and 32GB DDR4-3200 RAM. You’ll have enough space to store all your games and your other stuff in a large 1 TB SSD. Both models are Wi-Fi 6 compatable.
G14 will offer you the option to choose a 14-inch display and:
- 120Hz 1080p IPS panel
- 60Hz1440p IPS panel
- 60Hz 1080p IPS panel
G15 will offer you the option to choose a 15.6-inch and:
- 1080p 144Hz IPS panel
- 1080p 240Hz IPS panel
The proudest feature of this new device is the cooling system, which is the ErgoLift hinge.
This means that the keyboard is placed in a more comfortable position and the back has more space for a much better cooling process.
The two new desktops that Asus presented at CES are the: ROG Strix GA15/GT15 and the ROG Strix GA35/GT35. With hardware as AMD Ryzen 9 3950X and 1TB SSD storage, alongside the RTX 2080 TI. The memory will be of 64GB DDR4-3200 memory.
On the other hand, the GA15/GT15 will have a Ryzen 7 3800x, alongside an RTX 2080 Super with a storage capacity of 1TB SSD. The memory will be of 32GB DDR4-3200 memory.
Both of them will have the mouse and the keyboard included, so that’s a win.
The design is nothing “extraordinary”, it is heavily inspired by the ROG Strix GL12CX, especially when we’re talking about the dual-chamber, which now is more compact.
There is no information about when and how much each one of them will cost, but we can expect later this year.
